Is Your Massage Studio A Good Citizen?
We help our clients, yes.
But are you also helping your community?
Welcome back to another Monday with the Mavens. We created the Massage Mavens blog to connect with and educate self-employed massage therapists working to grow as business owners.
It can be lonely working for yourself – and we’re here to remind you that while you’re in business for yourself, you don’t have to be in business by yourself.
While we cater our content to independent MTs, all massage therapists are welcome here; whether you run your own independent massage therapy studio, you contract in a clinic, work in spa, or you are still in school.
Is Your Massage Therapy Studio A Good Citizen?
Most of us became massage therapists because we are passionate about helping our clients.
Most of us then went into business for ourselves because we realized that by working for ourselves, we could help more clients in an even more fulfilling way.
That is you as a person. You are a good citizen.
But what about your business? Is your business a good citizen?
Small businesses thrive because they are supported by their community. It is good practice (and good karma) to support your community as well.
Ways to make a positive impact in your community outside of time with clients in your studio:
Donating a portion of your profits to a local animal shelters
Volunteering free time at a local food bank
Volunteering massage time to a local retirement home
Ensuring that you source your retail items from local wholesalers
Working to establish referral relationships with other local businesses to both better serve your clients and support other small businesses.
What other ways do you work to maintain a positive relationship with your community?
Thanks for stopping by!
As always, we’d love to hear how our content has helped you improve either your studio, your mindset, or your revenue as a self-employed massage therapist.
